My current new media/creative project, Move Away (which I’ve co-written, produced, scored, mixed, mastered, and acted in) is a digital horror audio drama for the COVID-era.
While the people quarantine inside, forgotten souls lurk in the empty streets of America’s most haunted Rust Belt city: Buffalo, NY. One tortured college student, Adam Combs, sets out to tell the stories of the damned and, hopefully, soothe their pain in the process.
In horrific detail, Move Away recalls events like the 1813 “Burning of Buffalo” by allied British and Seneca forces (and the xenophobic paranoia of its survivors), and the “Buffalo Nine’s” 1968 self-quarantine in a downtown Buffalo church to protest the Vietnam War draft. Move Away situates the COVID-19 catastrophe within the hundreds of years of American history that came before it. The podcast therein builds the terrifying, but ultimately uplifting, case that there is no going back to “normal.”
Check out “Move Away,” a COVID-era horror podcast featuring one tortured student’s quest to tell the stories of the damned and stay six feet away from his demons.

My original composition to capture the ambience of wandering through a Western New York forest on a cold and quiet quarantine night...with the feeling your demons may not be staying six feet away.
